5 - The Influence of Processing Variables on Matrix Structure and Nodularity of Ductile Iron
Research Projects
Abstract:
The Structural Control Committee of the Ductile Iron Research Committee has as its objective bringing into quantitative understanding and control the many variables influencing the major structural constituents of Ductile Iron. The most detrimental and perplexing constituent was voted to be primary carbides. The first research was directed toward factors influencing the occurrence of carbides studied at CaseWestern Reserve using induction furnace heats in order to control variables over a planned pattern of variation.
